(Q) What harm did I do to him, and how can I make it right in this lifetime?
(A) Has this not already been addressed through what was denied to Esther? And has it not also been addressed through Christ, who can stand in your place if you will turn inward and recognize that within you is not only the meaning of the Cross, but also the Resurrection—the ever-living presence of the Divine within your own soul—so that you may become a channel for it?
Become consciously aware of the truth already given: life continues, and there is divinity within the human soul. Just as the physical body must be trained to function well in daily life, so the spiritual mind must be trained if you are to experience not just the conveniences of living, but the deeper glories of the Holy Spirit within you.
If you wish to experience those inner glories, train your spiritual self to understand this law: as you forgive, you are forgiven. This is divine law, divine love, and divine truth. All things are met—not by your own power—but in Him.
God no longer asks for sacrifice. The one sacrifice made for all is already complete and eternally present within your own soul. Your body is truly the temple of the living God, and it is within you that He meets you—not to demand, not to command, but to work with you through the Divine already within.
As a reflection mirrors a face, so spiritual law responds to your actions. As you are born into life through water and blood, so the forgiving power within you grows stronger when you forgive others. In doing so, past burdens are wiped away—not that they leave no influence, but their effect depends on how earnestly you seek to become a channel of blessing to another soul.
This is done for their sake, not your own. For did Christ give His life for Himself? Did He create the beauty of the universe, nations, and peoples for His own benefit? No—these exist so that you may recognize His love for you and become one with Him.
1298-1 Paraphrased
RESSURRECTION EXPLAINED
(Based on Reading 1298-1 above)
Resurrection is the conscious awakening, expression, and embodiment of the Divine life within the self—here and now—through spiritual awareness, forgiveness, love, and cooperation with God within the soul.
How the reading supports this definition
1. Resurrection is present, not postponed
“…that within, that is ever as not only the Cross but the Resurrection of the divine in thine self…” 1298-1
Resurrection is described as “ever” present, not something that happens only after death or at the end of time. It is a current inner reality.
2. Resurrection is the Divine awakened in the soul
“…that there IS divinity in the soul of man…” 1298-1
Resurrection is tied to realizing and living from the divine nature already within the human soul.
3. Resurrection requires spiritual training and consciousness
“…the training of the spiritual consciousness of the mind is as necessary as the training of the physical consciousness…” 1298-1
Resurrection is cultivated, not passively received. It unfolds as spiritual awareness is trained and practiced.
4. Resurrection is expressed through forgiveness and love
“…even as ye forgive ye are forgiven. For this is law, this is love, this is divine…” 1298-1
Forgiveness is not symbolic—it activates resurrection, magnifying divine forces within the individual.
5. Resurrection is cooperation with God, not submission to command
“…not to demand, there not to COMMAND, but there to COOPERATE with the divine IN THEE!” 1298-1
Resurrection is a co-creative relationship with God within, not obedience to an external authority.
6. Resurrection is becoming a channel for divine life
“…that ye might be one with Him!” 1298-1
Resurrection culminates in oneness, where the individual becomes a channel of blessing, living for others rather than the self.
In this reading, resurrection means:
Awakening to the Divine already within you
Living from that Divine life through love and forgiveness
Allowing spiritual consciousness to rise and govern daily life
Becoming a living temple and channel of God’s presence
It is not escape from life, but transformation of life.
(Q) What injury did I do to him, and how may I meet it in this life?
(A) Was it not met rather in those things denied Esther? Was it not met rather in Him that may stand in thy stead if ye will look to that within, that is ever as not only the Cross but the Resurrection of the divine in thine self to know, to be a channel?
But go that the self may be aware of those very effects as has been given, that Life is continuous, that there IS divinity in the soul of man, that the training of the spiritual consciousness of the mind is as necessary as the training of the physical consciousness to enjoy even the conveniences of the day.
So to enjoy the glories rather than conveniences of the holy spirit within, train thy spiritual self to know - even as ye forgive ye are forgiven. For this is law, this is love, this is divine - that ye meet every whit, yea, but IN HIM! God no longer seeketh the sacrifice, but the Sacrifice once being made for all is ever present in thine own inner soul! For thy body is indeed the temple of the living God, and in same He meets thee! THERE not to demand, there not to COMMAND, but there to COOPERATE with the divine IN THEE! And as the face then answereth to the face in the mirrors of life - yea, as ye are born of water and of blood - so are the forgiving forces in thee magnified by thy forgiving thy brother. And they be blotted away! Not that these do not bear an influence, but relatively so - depending upon how great is thy seeking to become the channel of blessing to a soul! For his sake, not for thine! For, gave He life for His own sake? For, gave He breath and all the beauties of a universe, or even of a peoples or of nations, for Himself? Rather that ye may see in all of these His love for thee, that ye might be one with Him!
