A.R.E. Meeting for 5/18/15

In Cayce's Story of the Bible, we started the Book of Judges. We read the stories of “Deborah and Barak,” “Deborah’s Song” (with Nancy reading Deborah’s Song from the Bible), “Gideon,” and “Abimilech.” In two weeks we will start at “Jephthah’s Vow” on page 254.

A.R.E. Meeting for 5/11/15

Nancy continued to push us through the Joshua material and into Caleb’s family history. We started with the “Treaties with the Pagans: Joshua Deceived” on page 229. By the end of the evening, we were through Joshua, and up to the Book of Judges on page 245. Since the Book of Judges is fairly small and filled with short stories, John recommends that we read it at home before the next meeting.

We covered a lot of material on Joshua this week. It began on page 210 where we started with “Joshua and the Genetic Code.” This was followed by “We Are the Promised Land,” “The Entry into Canaan,” “The Parting of the Jordan,” “Twelve Stones,” “Baptism,” “Circumcision of Nations,” “The Cessation of Manna,” “Jericho,” and “Archan’s Trespass.” We are ready to read “Treaties with the Pagans: Joshua Deceived” on page 229.
