The sections were “They Were There,” “Hezekiah, Figs, and Babylon,” “Hezekiah and the Babylonian Preview,” “The Growing Darkness – Manassah and Amon,” “The Last Great Light – Josiah,” and “The Countdown Begins – the Last Kings.” We are now ready to start Chapter 24 on page 461.

We continued on with “Ahab, Jezebel, and Jehoshaphat,” Last Words on Ahab,” Jehoshaphat Rebuked,” and “One Besetting Sin.” That concluded the chapter and next week we will start Chapter 20: “Elijah and Elisha” on page 413.

We took up reading Cayce’s Story of the Bible again this week and the big lesson was that we are our brother’s keeper, which led to a good discussion on the immigrant and refugee problem facing the world. In the book we started at Part Three, “From Solomon’s Glories to the Birth of Jesus,” on page 367. We then proceeded on to “Foreword: World Affairs and the Bible,” “Introduction: The Coming is from Within,” “Solomon’s Sins,” “Benaiah,” and “Coronation and Rebellion.” Next week we will pick up at “To Your Tents, O Israel!” on page 382.

We took another break from reading Cayce’s Story of the Bible this week so we could talk about angels. We watched a John Van Auken Earth-Keepers presentation where he discusses angels (that link was sent out yesterday), and we watched some brief portions of this week’s A.R.E Reflections presentation with Karen Noe. We did not read any of Cayce’s Story of the Bible tonight. Instead, we voted on whether to proceed with the book or go to something else. The vote was we continue with the book and take occasional breaks. So tonight we read a section about the Essenes from the book The Edgar Cayce Reader.

In Cayce’s Story of the Bible, we started with “The Kingdom Within” on page 350, and read “Portrait of a King” and “Another Dream.” We are currently at “Pages of Wisdom” on page 355. We had some discussion on whether to continue with the book, or possibly take breaks or diversions while continuing on with the book. Although no vote was taken, it appeared that most wanted to continue on, but we have been asked to think about it another week.

As a kind of experiment, we were directed to think about what the story of Solomon means to us personally.

We continued through “The King,” “The Death of Uzzah,” Bathsheba and the Sorrows of David,” “David’s House,” “The King’s Daughter,” and “The King’s Son-in-Law.” Our next section will be “Absalom’s Rebellion,” on page 340.

In Cayce’s Story of the Bible, our group started at the middle of page 314 and read “Saul and the Witch of Endor – Spirit Communication,” which took us to the end of Chapter 15. We started Chapter 16 and read “Abner” and “A Man After God’s Heart.” We are currently on page 328 at “The Pattern of a Life.”

Next week John will bring a computer and a DVD of “The Divine Matrix” for us to watch.

In Cayce’s Story of the Bible, we finished the Book of Ruth by reading about “Boaz.” Then we read through Chapter 13 (Man Crowned King) with sections named “Israel Chooses” and “Like all the other nations (1 Samuel 8:20).” Next week we start Chapter 14: The Birth of a Prophet, on page 273.

In Cayce’s Story of the Bible, we finished the Book of Judges by reading “Jephthah’s Vow” and “Samson.” Before starting “The Book of Ruth” in the Cayce book, Nancy read the entire Book of Ruth from the Bible to give us perspective. We read the introduction in Ruth, and up to “Boaz” on page 260.

Martinaya suggested a discipline for the week. As we meet others, seek to see God in each of them. Whether they be panhandlers, or less fortunate, realize that each comes from the one Source.

In Cayce's Story of the Bible, we started the Book of Judges. We read the stories of “Deborah and Barak,” “Deborah’s Song” (with Nancy reading Deborah’s Song from the Bible), “Gideon,” and “Abimilech.” In two weeks we will start at “Jephthah’s Vow” on page 254.

Nancy continued to push us through the Joshua material and into Caleb’s family history. We started with the “Treaties with the Pagans: Joshua Deceived” on page 229. By the end of the evening, we were through Joshua, and up to the Book of Judges on page 245. Since the Book of Judges is fairly small and filled with short stories, John recommends that we read it at home before the next meeting.

It began on page 210 where we started with “Joshua and the Genetic Code.” This was followed by “We Are the Promised Land,” “The Entry into Canaan,” “The Parting of the Jordan,” “Twelve Stones,” “Baptism,” “Circumcision of Nations,” “The Cessation of Manna,” “Jericho,” and “Archan’s Trespass.” We are ready to read “Treaties with the Pagans: Joshua Deceived” on page 229.
