(pages 86 and 87)
[Please note a part of previous [11/07/1939] Bible study minutes is added at the beginning here]
1. The True “Chosen People”
According to Cayce’s interpretation, the “chosen people” are not defined by race, nationality, or heritage — but by choice.
Just as Abraham chose to follow the one living God, anyone who seeks to do God’s will today becomes one of His chosen.
“God is no respecter of persons” (Romans 2:11).
What makes a person “chosen” is not privilege, but willingness — the conscious choice to walk in harmony with divine law.
Abraham responded to God’s call by separating himself from worldly influences and seeking direct guidance from the divine. Likewise, we are “chosen” when we choose God first and foremost — when our actions reflect His love, purpose, and truth.
Jesus reinforced this idea:
“Whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.”
(Matthew 12:50)
So, being “chosen” is not about favoritism — it is about alignment. We are chosen when we choose Him and live accordingly.
2. Jesus: The Perfect Example of Oneness
Cayce presents Jesus as the ultimate fulfillment of divine law — the perfect expression of unity between God and humanity.
By living in complete obedience to the law of love, He demonstrated what true oneness with God looks like in human form.
Jesus’ life bridged the divide between Creator and creation.
Where humanity had fallen into separation, Jesus revealed through His living example that the divine and human could again be one. His prayer in John 17:25–26 expresses this:
“O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee… And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.”
Here, Jesus prays not just for His disciples but for all who will follow — that they too may share in the same divine love and unity He knew with the Father.
3. The Example of Judas and the Nature of Choice
Cayce uses Judas as an illustration of misused free will.
While the other disciples struggled and faltered, Judas willfully chose his own self-serving path — embodying the “Evil Force” that opposes divine unity.
This contrast highlights a spiritual truth:
Those who follow love and obedience to divine law move toward oneness.
Those who willfully serve self-interest and worldly power move toward separation.
In every generation, some choose the way of unity (Christ), while others choose division (the “Judas” within).
4. The Cross: Fulfillment, Not Form
Cayce emphasizes that it is not the ritual but the purpose that brings salvation.
Many were crucified in Jesus’ time, but only His crucifixion had redemptive meaning — because He consciously fulfilled the divine law through love, obedience, and sacrifice.
“It is finished.” — John 19:30
This was not a cry of defeat but of completion — the fulfillment of the divine plan to reveal the path back to God.
Through His suffering and victory, Jesus sanctified Himself for humanity’s sake, showing us the way out of sin and back into oneness with the Father.
5. God’s Law: Creative, Not Punitive
Cayce’s notes stress that God’s law is creative, not destructive.
It is always constructive, always working toward harmony and growth. Evil arises only when humans misuse that law for personal gain or self-glorification.
“God’s word is truth. His word is law. His law is creative.”
To live by God’s law is to align with the creative force of the universe — with love, life, and purpose.
To resist it is to bring confusion and suffering upon ourselves.
6. The Revelation of Oneness through the Spirit
Jesus promised that the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, would continue His work by revealing divine truth within each person:
“I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it.” (John 17:26)
This means revelation is ongoing — the Spirit continues to teach us how to live in unity with God, one another, and all creation.
The goal of spiritual life, as Cayce describes, is to awaken to the same oneness Jesus knew and manifested.
7. Living as the Chosen: Our Daily Practice
To be among the “chosen” today is to live with purpose, humility, and love — to act as channels of divine blessing in the world.
We are called to live as ambassadors of the kingdom, representing God’s love through our actions, service, and relationships.
Like Jesus, we are to “finish the work” given us — to manifest the divine law in material life, transforming the ordinary into sacred expression.
Summary
Key Idea⟺Meaning
Chosen People⟺Those who choose to do God’s will, as Abraham and Jesus did.
Jesus’ Role⟺The embodiment of divine-human unity; the pattern for us to follow.
Law of Love⟺God’s creative law; it builds, harmonizes, and redeems.
Judas’ Lesson⟺A warning against willful self-centeredness and spiritual blindness.
The Cross⟺Completion of divine purpose — not ritual, but realization.
The Spirit⟺The ongoing presence of God revealing unity to all who seek.
Our Task⟺To live as chosen — consciously expressing divine love in all we do.

Affirmation

“I choose this day to do Thy will, O Lord.
Thou art One, and I am one with Thee.
Let Thy love and wisdom flow through me,
that I may see Thy hand in all things and
know the peace of Thy oneness.”
This affirmation centers the will in God’s unity. It echoes Abraham’s act of choosing and Jesus’ fulfillment of divine law: a conscious choice to align the human self with divine purpose — to choose to be chosen.

Prayer

Father of all creation, One God in heaven and on earth,
We thank Thee that Thou hast called us to know Thy name —
not by favor, but by our choosing to follow Thee.
As Jesus sanctified Himself for our sake,
let us sanctify our hearts for Thy service.
May we walk the path of love that He fulfilled,
seeing in every trial the opportunity to draw nearer to Thee.
Help us to love as Jesus loved,
to forgive as He forgave,
to finish the work Thou hast given us to do.
May Thy Spirit, the Comforter,
guide us into the realization of Thy oneness —
that we may be in Thee, and Thou in us,
even as Christ is in Thee.
Amen.
This prayer draws from John 17:26 (“I have declared unto them Thy name… that the love wherewith Thou hast loved Me may be in them”) and the lesson’s idea that we are chosen when we choose God first and act like it.

Meditation

In the silence, turn the heart inward and upward.
Feel the breath of life — the same Spirit that moved in Jesus,
the same love that guided Abraham’s choice.
Let every thought of separation fade away.
There is no other power, no other source, no other law but God.
Hear within: “It is finished.”
The struggle to be other than what God made you to be is over.
You are one with the Father, even as the Son is one.
Rest in that oneness. Let it fill you.
Let it go forth from you as blessing, peace, and love to all creation.
For the Lord thy God is One —
and thou art one with Him.

This meditation mirrors John 19:30 (“It is finished”) as a statement of completion — the realization of divine unity — and reflects Cayce’s teaching that the divine law is creative and redemptive when expressed through love.
